BREAKING NEWS: Robinho sentenced to 9 years in prison for sexual assault

BREAKING NEWS: Robinho sentenced to 9 years in prison for sexual assault.

Brazilian footballer Robinho has been handed a nine-year prison sentence by an Italian court after being found guilty of sexual assault, according to reports in Italy.

La Gazzetta dello Sport' revealed that the former Madrid and Manchester City forward is one of a group of five who were found guilty of sexual assault.
The incident took place back when Robinho was at AC Milan and he allegedly took part in the sexual assault of a 22-year-old Albanian girl in a Milan night club on January 22, 2013.
The former Real Madrid, Manchester City and AC Milan player, now 33 years old, was currently back in Brazil playing for Atletico Mineiro.
It is not the first accusation of sexual assault for Robinho, but it is the first time he is sentenced to time in prison. In 2009, when at Manchester City, the Brazil international was arrested and bailed in January as part of a criminal investigation into an alleged attack at a nightclub in Leeds. He was subsequently cleared of all charges.
Robinho will have an opportunity to dispute the sentence as the Italian law system allows for "several levels of appeal" before any sentence is enforced, according to 'Football Italia'.
